Installation - Trunk

End users looking for stable and reliable product should seriously consider installing a prebuilt OS distributed packages, or for testing purposes only and if available, the prebuilt OpenSync provided packages?.
Installing the trunk version into system and using it with your valuable data may break the operating system by overwriting wrong files (from /usr/local for example), mess up, duplicate, destroy the PIM (Personal Information Management) data, and even put the tested mobile device (phone, PDA, etc) into state that it has to be taken to the authorized service to be re-programmed/re-flashed to become usable again. This especially applies to Nokia s40 based devices (caused by flaws in opensync/libsyncml software, not s40 based device itself).
Using non-released trunk version for anything else than testing and development in noncritical enviroment (devices, software, data) is not recommended. When doing so, Opensync.org does not carry any kind of liability to any damage during the testing or after it.
Opensync installation consists the following steps
- Meeting the system requirements
- Getting the sources
- Building
