gpe-sync

The gpe-sync plugin (http://www.opensync.org/browser/plugins/gpe), which was initially available from GPE CVS (http://handhelds.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/gpe/base/gpe-opensync/) allows using OpenSync to connect to a device running GPE (such as PDAs running the GPE flavours of the OpenZaurus or Familiar GNU/Linux distributions).

On the PDA, the gpesyncd daemon (available also from the gpe CVS : http://handhelds.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/gpe/base/gpesyncd/) must be installed, and a passphrase-less SSH connection must be available between the host running opensync and the PDA running gpesyncd (see details of such ssh setup in http://www.opensync.org/browser/plugins/gpe/README).

Warning : the gpe-contacts database schema has changed between versions. gpesyncd is not compatible with gpe-contacts 0.36 (version available in Debian sarge). It has been successfully tested with gpe-contacts-0.42.

Note that GPE applications may also be available on GNU-Linux distros for desktop machines, which provides a more convenient debugging environment.
